El “asesino de Cumbres”: la historia de Diego Santoy, el sujeto que mató a los hermanos menores de su novia en Monterrey El acusado recibió una condena de 138 años de prisión por el asesinato de dos menores, hermanos de su entonces novia El caso del “Asesino de Cumbres”, como se le llamó a Diego Santoy consternó a la ciudad de Monterrey, en Nuevo León, y en general a México en 2006 por la saña con la que fueron asesinados dos niños de 7 y 3 años que eran hermanos de Erika Peña Coss, entonces novia del acusado. Este viernes 14 de febrero se dio a conocer que Diego Santoy ganó un amparo con el que reabrirán el caso por el que recibió una condena de 138 años de cárcel, que después fue reducida a 71 años por buen comportamiento. El doble homicidio fue un 2 de marzo de 2006 en la casa de Erika ubicada en la calle Monte Casino de la colonia Cumbres. De acuerdo con las declaraciones del juicio, los niños fueron asesinados en su casa después que Diego la visitó para intentar dialogar para reanudar su relación. Ambos se habían conocido en la fiesta de 15 años de una amiga mutua, mientras Diego estudiaba Ingeniería y había incursionado en la conducción televisiva. La historia de amor entre los dos era aceptada por las familias e incluso Diego pasaba festividades como Año nuevo con los Coss.
